What's inside a PD Byte?

The first couple of pages will give background information and pull vital info from various sources.  The last two pages typically focus on practical ideas and information!

  • Find out about a topic!

  • Peek into classrooms via video and still photos!

  • Explore websites and other free resources!

  • Read a current blog post about the topic!

  • Explore a Pinterest board for practical ideas!

PD Bytes are not meant to be done in any specific order. Use as needed to differentiate professional learning and to advance conversations about teaching and learning!

Two Ways to Access...

Option One: (preferred)

After selecting the PD Byte you wish to explore, download the pdf to your ipad and save it in your iBooks collection.  You will then be able to interact by touching the links to videos, blogs, websites and more.

Option Two:

If you prefer to interact with a printed copy then we suggest you download a free QR barcode reader on your smartphone or ipad so that you can scan the QR codes for the media links.

Educators are hard pressed to find time to study and learn about new laws, standards, and assessments, let alone any new teaching ideas or technology tools!  Classrooms today require constant shifts in standards, content, instruction, assessment, and accountability.   There are simply not enough hours in the day!

A PD Byte is an attempt to provide important key information about a topic, along with easy access to opportunities for more in-depth knowledge and resources.  Reflective questions and suggestions for next steps are often included.  PD Bytes are an efficient and effective way to deliver the most pertinent information to educators on topics of their choice.  They are also great tools for PLCs!
